Leadership Announcement for Focus Beyond Transition Services

I am pleased to share with you that I have selected a new leader for Focus Beyond Transition Services. It is someone you are quite familiar with. Please join me in welcoming Micaela Smith as your school’s principal beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Principal Smith has spent the last two school years as assistant principal at Focus Beyond and I am excited to see her excel in this new opportunity.

Principal Smith has more than 15 years of specialized services experience in Minnesota and Wisconsin, including various roles within SPPS since 2018. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of River Falls, a master’s degree with an emphasis in Visual Impairments and Orientation and Mobility from Northern Illinois University-DeKalb, and a principal administrative license from Hamline University.

Principal Smith looks forward to continuing to partner with families, students, staff and the community to continue the great work at Focus Beyond.
