Micaela Smith

I am thrilled to serve the incredible students, families and teachers at Focus Beyond Transition Services!

This year I am most looking forward to upholding and building collaborative community partners that supports our students in pursuing their dreams as members of St Paul.  Student Voice, Access and Independence, and Employment are our collaborative values that provide direction to our programming and learning opportunities.

My background includes elementary education, special education for the blind and visually impaired/orientation and mobility, travel instruction, special education coach, assistant principal and principal.  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Masters of Education in Special Education, Special Education Director License, and Principal License.

At home, I spend the time with my sons Henry and Jacob and spouse Carl.  I have a love of giant breed dogs (Great Danes) and have a goal to train a therapy dog with our newest family member Spud (Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier).  I am a self-proclaimed Google Sheets enthusiast and enjoy outdoor concerts and adventures.
